I have been wanting to scrap about my middle name for a long time. This one was fun! I love these pictures of my grandparents and mom. The journaling reads: Robyn Marlyn Eastman. Oh how I hated my middle name when I was young. It was weird and no one ever got it right. No ... its not Marilyn as in Marilyn Monroe. And its not said with the accent on the first syllable. Said that way, it sounds like marlin which is a type of fish. My middle name is Marlyn with the stress on the last syllable. This was always a source of embarrassment for me growing up. I was shy and usually let it slide at Marilyn without going into details. I wished then that I had a different middle name. Something ... anything ... just not Marlyn! It was my moms middle name. Why did she have to curse me with it, too? Didnt she know how bad it was? She always explained to me that it was special because it was a combination of her parents middle names - MARgaret and FrankLYN. Little did I know how right she was. How cool that she carried on my grandparents names through me. The only thing I hate about my middle name now is that I didnt pass it on to Lauren as well. Paper is from Maya's Weathered Treasures kit at ScrapbookGraphics.com. Black frame is from the Scrap Artist combo kit: Art Inspiration. Alpha stamps are Nancie Rowe-Janitz's Schmootzy Alphas 1 and 2 (from Scrap Artist). The Marilyn Monroe and fish images were found on the Internet. Fonts are Antique Type, Human Brown Eye and Intrepid. Created in Photoshop CS2. |
